Hannah Gold - Raised in West Los Angeles, Hannah Gold grew up in a creative environment with a fascination for a variety of art forms. Her career path would take her first into entertainment where, as a 20-year veteran of the film and television industry, Hannah’s professional highlights included seven comedy films and numerous sports specials for television. Having already been an avid art collector for a number of years (with an eclectic collection rich in paintings, sculptures and African antiquities), the transition from film to art was a natural…..and with this change, Hannah fulfilled her desire and need for expression.
“Sculpting and painting gives me a voice…one that reflects my inner emotions and thoughts.” Autodidactic as a painter, Hannah discovered a unique sense of texture, style and color. This resulted in an initial series of impressive geometric flavored paintings (which her friends and colleagues now refer to as her “geo” period). From there, she began to experiment with interesting slants on more traditional themes: florals, seascapes and female forms.
On the sculpting front, after three years of study with Angelo Allen, Hannah went on to produce a prolific assortment of pieces, most of which have already found their way into the homes of private collectors. Opting for a glazed terra-cotta format, some of her more recent pieces have featured a striking “melted crystal” look, which is created during the glazing phase of each piece. These remain one of her most popular commissions.
Studying oil painting at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, Hannah’s art has continued to develop, as she considers herself just as much a work in progress as her rapidly expanding portfolio.
“I am most stimulated by beauty, so no matter where I am, I can always find a place to study and become inspired”.
Hannah resides in Mammoth Lakes and Marina del Rey, California. |
